Library Club has 4 sessions during the year, with Session 1 and Session 2 being the same and Session 3 and Session 4 being the same. All sessions are open to 3rd and 4th graders. Session 1 and Session 2 are called "It's All About the Books" and students talk about favorite books, discuss book related questions, do at least 20 minutes of silent reading, and make their own bookmarks. Session 3 and Session 4 are called "Games in the Library" and students will learn and play a variety of board games/card games that involve using cooperation, thinking skills, inquiry skills, and more. Some games are curriculum related, but they're all fun!
-
Art Club is an after school activity that supports students in furthering the development of their artistic skills. The club has four different sessions per school year, lasting for six weeks per session. In this club, we do a variety of 2D and 3D art projects based upon techniques they have learned in their regular art classes.

The Wayne Elementary 3rd and 4th Grade Chorus is a voluntary, highly encouraged before-school music ensemble led by Mr. Rob Laird. Third Grade Chorus rehearses on Tuesdays and Fourth Grade Chorus rehearses on Fridays from 7:45–8:30 AM. The program reinforces skills taught in general music and strengthens music literacy essential for successfully learning band instruments. Students sing a wide variety of repertoire in different styles and languages, including age-appropriate arrangements of current pop music. Chorus participation does not conflict with band and helps prepare students for future instrumental and vocal study, while providing performance opportunities at winter and spring concerts and community events that foster confidence, teamwork, and a lifelong appreciation for music. Please feel free to reach out to Mr. Laird at rlaird@waynecsd.org with any questions. Thank you so much for your interest and support of our music program!

Students are invited to attend Homework Helpers when they seem to be struggling getting assignments completed on time. Teachers recommend students to the Homework Helpers advisors and students are chosen based on academic need. Homework Helpers is on Tuesdays and Thursdays after school and students have time to complete homework assignments with assistance and also have the opportunity to work on improving skills learned in the classroom through extension exercises.
